古刀を再現した人なら居た。故・小林康宏氏。
ただし製法は当時そのままじゃなく現代科学のデータを駆使したものだけど。
当時の製法そのままだと、中世タタラで古鉄を作る所からせにゃならんので
中世タタラだけで鉄を産出していた当時と比べて採算が合わず、コストが莫大な
ものになるので、こればっかりは仕方が無い。
で、製法が従来の日本刀業界から軽視されていた「丸鍛え」「一枚鍛え」なので、
業界から白眼視される一方、実際に刀を使う武道家からは絶賛された。

アレは日本に良質の鉄鉱石が無いから無理やり編み出した技術だからね
もし沢山鉄材作れたら鎧が金属化して刀は鎧兵士を殴り倒す鈍器になってただろう
